One of the “greenest” buildings in the world–the Center for Sustainable Landscapes (CSL)
generates all its own energy and treats all water on-site. It was the first building to have met seven of the highest green certifications, including the Living Building Challenge and LEED Platinum.
Hanlon Electric Company has installed megawatt solar fields, rooftop solar, and numerous electric vehicle charging stations.
Hanlon was the electrical contractor responsible for Pittsburgh International Airport Solar Energy Farm. The unique aspect of Pittsburgh International Airport’s (PIT) solar farm is that it is part of a microgrid system that powers the entire airport, including the terminals, airfield, a hotel, and a gas station, using a combination of natural gas and solar power. This makes PIT the first major U.S. airport to operate with its own microgrid. The solar farm, which currently consists of 10,000 solar panels, will be expanded.
